Dolce Gelato Café
Dolce Gelato Café (pronounced jeh-lah-toh) is located inside our new Shelby Township location, with sit-down service, and a few doors down from our Clinton Township store. Dolce Gelato is an inviting, European-atmosphere spot to stop and indulge in the specialty of the house: Gelato - which is, roughly translated, Italian for rich, superior ice cream.
Actually, Gelato means more than ice cream in Italian, but that's as close as we can describe it if you haven't yet tasted this incredibly creamy, smooth-textured, all-natural frozen dessert. While creamy rich in flavor, it's more nutritious and lighter than North American ice cream.
Our homemade gelato contains:
- No egg yolks
- Small amounts only of low-fat milk
- Far less sugar than most sherbets, frozen yogurts and traditional ice cream
Gelato is like no other; it's an authentic Italian specialty with a tradition and taste all its own. At Café Dolce Gelato, we feature 35 enticing flavors, including refreshing fresh-fruit varieties like tangy lemon and succulent strawberry; or choose from house favorites like nocciola (hazelnut) or rich espresso. Of course we also have other ice cream style desserts - thick shakes, sodas, smoothies, "frullati," frozen yogurt and other incredibly tempting treats.

Speaking of espresso, the café is the perfect stop to enjoy gourmet coffee choices, specialty teas and a genuine "winter winner" - our hot, caramel apple cider. The Dolce Gelato Café also carries an array of authentic, homemade Italian and world-favorite "sweets cuisine."
